The parish needs to find the costs of the education and the board and lodging of children from outlying villages without schools.

The director of the children’s home is the local parish priest, Fr. Carolus who ensures that youngsters with ability can attend college.

The children’s home is open to Buddhists and Muslims as well as Christians. Five teaching religious including four nuns and one brother, three young priests, several female and male teachers and other school assistants make up the staff of the two residential schools.

All the children in their care are enabled to progress on a journey of social, human and spiritual achievement.  Currently there are 120 pupils at the residential school. 21 are orphans, others have one parent only. A sum of €900 per month is needed to provide board and lodging, clothing, and medicine for the children as well as a stipend for the staff.  The contribution of €150 from the children’s parents, meets only a sixth of that cost. The additional €750 required is provided by the efforts of the Maria Schregel Relief Organization.

With a contribution of just €25 a day, the organization can cover the costs and provide for the maintenance and education of all the 120 pupils.
